We INVITE ASHS members to be a vendor at the 2022 Fountain of Youth Sale. For 2022, the sale will consist of LED Yearlings and Two Year Old horses, and RIDDEN Two Year Old and Three Year Old horses. It is planned for the sale to be held ONSITE, in conjunction with the ASHS National Show. In the event the ASHS National Show is cancelled or postponed, the sale will be held ONLINE.

We have again secured Nutrien Ag Solutions as the selling agent, who specialise in the sale of performance horses. The Fountain of Youth sale has previously recorded consistent sale averages, and top priced horses achieving a good result. The selling agent is well known to the equine industry and has been successful in conducting sales onsite and online.

The sale offers members a chance to sell quality LED and RIDDEN horses. It provides an opportunity for breeders to promote their young stock to a wide audience. The Fountain of Youth sale is often where success begins. The horse must be ASH Registered, the Vendor the Registered Owner and a Financial ASHS Member for 2022. To nominate a horse, please ensure your horse is registered prior to nomination opening on 5th November 2021.

2021 Sale Results – Average $7,333 


Yearling and Two Year Old horses being sold through the agent (within 48 hours of the sale concluding) will be eligible to compete for the National Futurity Sale Incentive in future years. Additionally, the National Futurity nomination fee for Yearling & Two Year Old horses catalogued in this sale will be eligible for a $90.00 discount. The purchaser is responsible for ensuring the Nomination Fee for the National Futurity is paid to The Australian Stock Horse Society by the required date for the horse to be eligible to compete in the National Futurity.

  • The purchaser may be eligible to claim Sale Incentive Prizemoney for the Highest Placed Fountain of Youth Sale horses in the National Futurity: 1st – $4,000, 2nd – $2,000 and 3rd – $1,000.
  • The vendor of the highest placed Fountain of Youth horses in the National Futurity Overall becomes eligible to claim the Sale Incentive Bonus – 1st – $1,500, 2nd – $1,000 and 3rd – $500.

STABLES will be allocated in E & F blocks. Stabling is provided from Wednesday 9th March to 9.00am, Sunday 13th March only. Stable cleaning for ALL sale horses is provided and is NOT the responsibility of the vendor or purchaser – no refunds on sale stables. It is the responsibility of the new owner (or, if not sold the vendor) to remove the horse from the stable by 9.00am, Sunday 13th March; or if remaining in the stable, pay additional stabling fees at the AELEC office, no later than 9.00am, Sunday 13th March. NOMINATION FEE: $460. The minimum start up price for bidding is set at $2,000 for Led horses and $3,000 for Ridden horses. Commission will be payable by the vendor to the Auctioneer in respect of each Lot catalogued and sold. This applies from day of sale to 14 days after the advertised sale date, whether sold at Auction or Private Treaty. Transfer fee will be deducted from the sale proceeds. Fees in relation to the sale nomination are not refundable. By nominating a horse, the vendor accepts the sale may be conducted Onsite or Online.
